Posting: Heavy Duty Mechanic - Surrey, BC
Details:
We are currently seeking a full-time Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Surrey-based team.To be successful in this role you must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and demanding shop environment. We are looking for a self-starter who can work efficiently with minimal supervision, but also plays well with others.
Duties will include maintenance, repairs and diagnosis of trucks, trailers and forklifts, including hydraulic and electical systems. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable and involved in disassembling and re-assembling all components of heavy equipment. They will also work closely with the parts person to ensure parts required for repair are ordered or in stock.
Key Qualifications:
Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification (4th year apprentice with previous heavy truck experience will be considered); Class 5 Driver's License (Class 3 with Air will be considered an asset); welding experience will be considered an asset; basic computer skills; a strong command of the English language (written and verbal).
In this role your responsibilities will include:
Supporting company policies and procedures regarding health and safety and scheduled maintenance programs; diagnosing various equipment for malfunctions and faults; cleaning, lubricating and maintaining equipment; interpreting work orders and manuals; writing service reports; ensuring all work performed meets manufacturers’ specifications and legislated regulations.
